Initiative Objective

The town, through a grant from the Department of Energy, is purchasing and installing a reciprocating natural gas generator for the Fairfield Police Headquarters. The distributed generator will be a combined heat and power project generating electricity and using the waste heat to heat the building. At a later date, an absorption chiller will be added to convert the waste heat in the warm weather to cool air for air conditioning.
