Description
Harman's Farm Market began operating in 1988. Tom and Paula Harman started by growing 2 acres of sweet corn and 50 tomato plants. They now grow over 50 acres of assorted fruits and vegetables. Crops include sweet corn, tomatoes, strawberries, green beans, squash, peppers, pumpkins, broccoli, watermelon, cantaloupe, specialty melons, onions, sweet potatoes, cucumbers, and numreous varieties of fall ornamentals. In addtion to selling from their market in Churchville, the Harmans also participate in the Havre de Grace Farmers' Market and operate a CSA. School tours are a big event in October as well as weekend entertainment.
Harman's Farm Market's CSA offers their members the option of purchasing a full weekly share or a full share every other week (known as a half share). Members can expect to receive a box of the freshest fruits and vegetables valued between $20 - $25. The season begins the 3rd week in May and runs through the end of October. Each box contains between 6 - 10 units of produce.
