Description

Nashville Urban Harvest
We use sustainable agricultural practices--no chemical pesticides and improved soil health means better health for you and your family. The cost of your share supports our work directly, covering the cost of seed, salary, and farm equipment. We deliver a variety of fresh local veggies, including: salad mix, spinach, peas, radishes, Swiss chard, kale, arugula, tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, zucchini, potatoes, peppers, garlic, onions, carrots, and herbs. Each weekly box typically contains between 5-10 types of produce, and enough veggies to serve 3-4 people per week.

Nashville Urban Harvest is a community group working to build a sustainable food system in Nashville, Tennessee, and environs. We seek ways to help align public action with public values: educating for food justice, creating markets to support local producers, producing food on urban green space, all with an eye toward sustainable, local, community-supported agriculture and action.

Our programs include a 2009 Community Sponsored Agriculture share program and regular Saturday volunteer sessions at our West Nashville Community farm (March-November). We have collaborated with the Middle Tennessee Food Security Partners on the Veggie Project, an initiative to bring fresh vegetables and farmers' markets to food desert communities throughout Nashville.
