Description

Old Oak Estate Farm
This farm offers organically grown heirlooms through their program called, "Growing Up Heirlooms." There, they offer heirlooms that use to be stables on the tables of many of the surrounding communities' German ancestors. Additionally, they offer the popular varieties used in today's kitchen and even add a Thank You Recipe each week to help patrons with ideas for dinner.

Bought in July of 1854 by Georg Briesacher, a native of France, and passed down through six generations, Old Oak Estate Farm is still "Growing Up History". It is a registered Sesquicentennial Family Heritage Farm with the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Today, Old Oak Estate Farm, is Growing Up in History, by stewarding the community of the history that once was here. Come 2011, Old Oak Estate Farm will Grow Up a little bit more as we become more apart of the community by offering a CSA program called, "Growing Up Heirlooms", in which we offer shares of fruits and vegetables that our ancestors used to eat. These fruits & vegetables are called heirlooms because they are genetically "nature made" and not "genetically modified" (GMO) foods that are seeded through big ag-industry conglomerates.
