Description
Petaluma Bounty Farm
The Bounty Box is a partnership between the Bounty Farm and the community. By joining our Bounty Box program subscribers not only receive a weekly box of high quality, farm-fresh produce, they are also directly supporting Petaluma Bounty¢¯¿½?¢âÂ?ž¢s mission to make healthy food available to all.
Bounty Box members join the farm for a full season commitment. Our harvest season runs 22 weeks, beginning in June and going until mid November. Boxes include 7 to 11 different vegetables, herbs and fruit harvested at their peak ripeness from the Bounty Farm and on rare occasions, from other local farms. A typical box feeds 2 to 4 people per week, depending on your cooking habits.
Members come to the farm weekly to pick up their farm fresh produce on their pre-selected day, either Tuesday or Friday. Subscribers also receive a weekly newsletter with recipes, nutrition information, weekly access to the herb u-pick garden, news from the Bounty Farm, and upcoming events.
The Bounty farm is part of a non-profit organization called Petaluma Bounty whose mission is to make healthy food accessible to everyone in Petaluma and especially those who cannot afford organic produce. Our two acre farm grows a wide diversity of over 60 different vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruit. The growing philosophy at the Bounty Farm is healthy soil cultivates healthy plants that feed healthy people that nourish a healthy community. This is a community run farm with many volunteers that carry out the daily practices on the farm. Volunteer work days are the second Saturday of every month with other volunteer opportunities weekly (see our website for more information). We also offer workshops in sustainable food production and cooking classes for the general public.
