Description
Staten Island Community Supported Agriculture (SICSA) is a group of Staten Islanders who buy shares in a farmer's vegetable and fruit crop for the growing season. We support Starbrite Farm located in Hardwick, New Jersey and the farmer, John Krueger, and share the risks and benefits of food production with them. The 2011 SICSA season begins Wednesday, June 15 and lasts 22 weeks. The last pickup date is November 9th. The distribution point is Christ Church on the corner of Franklin Ave. and Fillmore St., one block south of Richmond Terrace, on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The pickup point is in the parking lot at the rear of the church on Fillmore. Each week we receive 7 to 13 different types of organic vegetables of varying amounts.
