Our Midtown CSA offers a vegetable share that consists of a wide variety of high-quality, certified organic produce from Free Bird Farm. We also offer shares for pasture-raised eggs and pasture-raised chickens from Free Bird and fruit grown by a collective of New York-based farms. Distribution takes place on Tuesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Vanderbilt YMCA, within walking distance of Grand Central Station. The 22-week season runs from June 7, 2011 to Nov. 2, 2011.
The Turtle Bay CSA is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program bringing fresh, affordable organic produce to our members while supporting local, sustainable farming practices. Our farm partner, Free Bird Farm, is a small-scale, diversified and certified organic farm located in Upstate NY’s Mohawk Valley. Vegetable, fruit, egg and poultry shares are available.
The Turtle Bay CSA distributes on Tuesdays from 5-8PM at the Vanderbilt YMCA, located at 224 East 47th St. btwn 2nd and 3rd Aves, from June 7-November 1. Members work 2-3 two-hour shifts at the distribution over the course of the season.
Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and will be open until we have reached our capacity of 125 shares. Shares cannot be considered confirmed until payment has been received. Once we reach capacity we will start a waiting list.
