Haddon Heights Community Center Demonstration Rain Garden

Contact Info
Description
The Newton Creek and Big Timber Creek watersheds are characterized by extensive residential and commercial development. As a result, their streams are severely impacted by increased stormwater runoff. To address the water quality and quantity issues, rain gardens, like this demonstration project, play an essential role in protecting the watershed. This rain garden will capture and treat approximately 14,000 gallons of rainwater per year.
The project was made possible by a grant from New Jersey American Water with support from Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Camden County and Sustainable Haddon Heights.
