Description
Eating locally seems to be the buzz word on everyone’s lips these days, right along with organic, sustainable, and green. Luckily for Salado and it’s surrounding communities a group of concerned citizens have formed the non-profit corporation Adelea’s Farmers’ Market, Inc. designed to supply locally-grown food and farm products in a direct farm-to-consumer marketing venue. It is our mission to do this while preserving and promoting regional agriculture and cultivating a healthy community by strengthening the local food system and improving access to nutritious, affordable food. We are in the process of becoming a Certified Texas Farmers’ Market, a designation that will enable us to accept WIC vouchers and SNAP/food stamps thus making the fresh food available to all of our community.
Our market will run every Saturday from April through October from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the grounds of Adelea’s On Main at 302 North Main Street in downtown Salado.
