Description
The Crossroads Farmers Market opened in 2007 as part of an effort to give residents of the Takoma-Langley area better access to fresh, local produce. Together with the Takoma Park Farmers Market, it became the first farmers market in Maryland authorized to accept food stamps, WIC, and senior assistance vouchers and the first market nationwide to match food vouchers with market "Fresh Checks."
The producers-only market, held every Wednesday from 3-7pm from June to October, features local fruits and vegetables from sustainable growers, European, Guatemalan, and Mexican baked goods, local artisans, and weekly Summer Concert Series.
