Our main objective is to market local vegetables, fruits, honey, cheese and quality crafts. This is our 2nd year and we are growing fast. A new and local organic vegetable farm joins us this year. We are lucky to have a Thai chef who markets her "ready to eat Thai foods" at this market. This is what the local newspaper, the Smith Mountain Lake Eagle wrote about this market last year (April 08): Live chicken, ducks and eggs from free range hens Ripe, fragrant peaches, the size of soft balls Juicy, heirloom tomatoes, corns picked the night before Young, tender yellow and green squashes without blemish Artisan breads, homemade breads and cakes Thai masman curry, packaged and ready to heat up for a quick dinner with the different Several vareitiesof honey from the hive just down the roads These are just a few examples of what being offered at the Moneta/SML community market.
