For the last 15 years, the Town of Fairfield has had an Energy Management Plan that had the following goals:

Reduce energy consumption by at least 10%

Reduce energy costs by at least 10%

Reduce air emissions that are related to the increase in heart and respiratory disease in the youth and senior population

Reduce CO2 emissions by 10%

Purchase 29% of our electricity from green sources

Reduce our dependency on imported energy sources Increase the use of renewable energy

Increase recycling to 35-40% Improve indoor air quality in our schools and public buildings
