GreenPrint initatives related to reducing Miami-Dade County's energy consumption. Through funding from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program, the County was able to install photovoltaic (solar) panels on the roofs of three existing recreational facilities of the Miami-Dade Park and Recreation Department: Country Village, Martin Luther King Memorial and Westwind Lakes parks. The power generated by the solar systems will minimize demand from the electricity power grid over the design life of the systems.
