Description

Three Stamford, CT property owners, Malkin Properties, Albert B. Ashforth, Inc. and Greenwich Hospital, accepted the challenge to benchmark water and energy usage, take measures to reduce usage, and adopt nine building policies. These policies address carpooling, no smoking, waste reduction, low mercury lighting, sustainable purchasing, integrated pest management, storm water quality management, green cleaning and light pollution. Sustainable Stamford, the city of Stamford's sustainability task force, has recognized these participants of the pilot program as outstanding role models who have already made significant reductions in water and energy consumption after one year of participating in the challenge.
