Organization: AmeriCorps Public Ally

Summary:

I've only recently moved to Fairfield. I am interested in sustainable planning, organic agriculture, vegetarian cooking, art, and literature. I work in Bridgeport as a Project Assistant for GBAPP, Inc. through the AmeriCorps Public Allies program. For our AmeriCorps Team Service Project, we planned and implemented an initiative in urban beautification called "Bridgeport Beautifies." It included exterior murals, community gardens, and a city sweep day that attracted over 200 volunteers to 21 sites for cleaning, planting, and painting.
