Summary: GVI's approach to local action is to focus on tangible projects and to execute them in a highly professional way.This intense focus on achieving specific projects has given us a reputation for reliability and trustworthiness.We work in partnership with many other nonprofits,including towns,schools,nature centers,senior centers,state parks,arts centers,and PTAs.We believe that collaboration across nonprofits is a critical step forward. GVI's current focus is on Bridgeport, CT. We have committed to building an edible garden in every school in Bridgeport,having completed 15 to date with 3 in the pipeline.We are also completing the first Urban Farm on a 1.75 acre site on Reservoir Avenue in Bridgeport.The Farm will act as the hub for all of the school gardens starting the seeds and providing an education/meeting space.We will employ 20 college and high school interns to work on the farm and maintain the school gardens during the summer months.All food will stay in the Bridgeport community
